{Star of Life} Field Services / EMS
The Field Services supports responder organizations with a variety of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) activities and training opportunities. The division provides staff support for the Chester County Commissioners acting in their role as the Regional EMS Authority under Acts 45 and 82.
The division is responsible for coordinating State licensure of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Air (Helicopter) ambulance services, providing technical support to EMS providers, coordinating and administering EMS training ,including the administration of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and First Responder (FR) certification examinations, providing system quality assurance including tracking of responder performance, and collection and entry of data from state mandated call reports. They also administer the Continuing Education process, whereby providers renew their certifications by attending educational programs. The also provide the State Department of Health with accurate data on system operation.
